Celebrating Our Christmas Lights Supporters

The Ongar community truly shone this festive season, and it’s all thanks to the generosity, teamwork, and spirit of our local businesses, sponsors, and volunteers. We’re delighted to share our Ongar New Year’s Honours List, a heartfelt tribute to everyone who made the 2025 Christmas Lights possible.

Star Supporters & Major Sponsors

  • A spectacular £5,000 donation from Rylan Clark set the tone for an unforgettable celebration.

  • Kevin Hubbard & ITS, our main sponsor, purchased £2,000 worth of lights for the High Street shops, helped organise the event, and together with Dream Drive Cars brought us the show-stopping Movie Car Parade featuring the Ongar Young Farmers and lead by the Ongar Fire Station
  • The Kings Head sponsored our main stage with a generous £2,500 and gave unwavering support throughout the run-up and on the big day.
  • £2000 from Ongar Town Council
  • £1500 from Qualis Group
  • London and Essex Drainage provided our stunning Christmas tree, while J and S Heating made decorating it possible with their cherry picker, no small feat given its size!
  • Krazy Kids Café not only made a cash donation but donated the baubles on the tree, and Scrum Bakery’s £1,000 contribution funded our beautiful new Christmas Star and extra lights.
  • A huge thank you to our volunteers who came together to put up the lights and decorated our high street, and to Just Gents, The Mogul Restaurant, and Fontaine Bloom for powering our new displays.

Performers, Crew & Unsung Heroes

We’re grateful to the talented artists and groups who entertained us all day in the lucky winter sunshine. Special thanks to our compare Amanda Poll, sound engineer Alfie Dollard, Ad Sound, and Specs Gonzales, who made sure the lights shone (even if Minnie Mouse and Mickey’s stage moment didn’t quite go as planned!). Local legends Kevin Street and Del also deserve a shoutout. They should have been on the stage too but was stuck along with Minnie still in the parade of cars!

Our Dom Giovannini and his marshalls kept everything running smoothly, Sentra Security with a special thank you to Donna Flemming who went over and beyond her duties and helped us clear up on the evening, and Dave Honeywell, our unsung hero, was indispensable through out the year of organising.

Dr Walker’s School made all the baubles again this year for the small Christmas Trees in the High Street. They raised £50 and are donating to St Clares Hospice.

Thanks to the students and teachers at The Ongar Academy for helping out with the games in the Activity Marquee.

Thank you to our Santas Adam Penny & Simon Day and Mrs Claus Michelle Day! Who helped fundraising for St Clares Hospice the bucket collections along with Puzzle Playschool total raised was £349.69 and the Grotto was a great success raising £288.66 for the Senior Hub.

Other Business Donors

These business made donations to make the whole event possible, be sure to show how grateful you are and take a look at what they have to offer. We love to support those who support us! We had fantastic donations from residents on our crowdfunder also a large number of donations who wish to stay anonymous.

If we’ve missed anyone, please accept our apologies and let us know and I will get you added, this was a true town effort. The work isn’t finished yet: we’ll soon need help taking the lights down. If you can lend a hand, please get in touch.

Thank you, Ongar, for everything. Here’s to a bright new year!
