Standing proudly on Ongar High Street, Budworth Hall is one of the town’s most recognisable and historically significant buildings. A Landmark at the Heart of Ongar
Built in 1886, Budworth Hall is a Grade II listed Victorian building that has been serving the local community for around 140 years. The distinctive clock tower was added shortly afterwards to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee.
The building was given to the town by the Budworth family of nearby Greensted Hall and was originally created to provide space for public meetings, recreation and community activities.
That original purpose continues today, with Budworth Hall remaining an important place for local people to meet, celebrate, perform, exercise and enjoy live entertainment.

Behind its familiar High Street exterior, Budworth Hall offers a variety of spaces, including:
