Looking after our wellbeing is not always as simple as treating one symptom or talking about one particular problem. Our thoughts, emotions, experiences and physical wellbeing are often closely connected.

That whole-person approach is at the heart of Nurture Your Wellbeing, an Ongar-based counselling and holistic therapy service led by qualified therapist Angie Fernandes.

As an Anything Ongar Gold Member, Nurture Your Wellbeing offers local people a safe and compassionate place to explore the support that may be right for them.

Supporting the Mind, Body and Spirit

Angie combines evidence-based therapeutic counselling with a wide range of complementary and holistic practices.

Some clients may benefit from structured talking therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, while others may find that relaxation, breathwork or holistic treatments provide valuable additional support.

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all programme, Angie works with each person individually to understand their experiences, goals and preferences.

Support can focus on the mind, the body or a combination of both.

Professional Therapeutic Counselling

Counselling for Children and Young People

Children do not always have the words to describe how they feel.

Angie uses age-appropriate techniques, including art and play therapy, to help children communicate and process their emotions in ways that feel natural and comfortable.

Children’s counselling may support young people experiencing anxiety, emotional difficulties, behavioural changes, trauma, bereavement or significant changes within their family or school life.

Angie has extensive experience working with vulnerable children and young people through school-based counselling, workshops, therapeutic groups and individual sessions.

Couples and Relationship Counselling

Relationship difficulties can leave both people feeling frustrated, disconnected or unsure how to move forward.

Couples counselling provides a neutral and supportive environment where partners can explore communication problems, recurring disagreements, changes in trust or other pressures affecting their relationship.

The purpose is not to take sides. It is to help both people understand one another more clearly and find healthier ways to communicate.

An Integrated Approach to Wellbeing

What makes Nurture Your Wellbeing particularly distinctive is Angie’s ability to bring clinical counselling and holistic practices together.

Talking therapy can help people recognise patterns, understand emotions and develop practical coping strategies. Holistic practices may help clients relax, reconnect with their bodies and manage some of the physical effects of prolonged stress.

Depending on the individual, a personalised programme might combine approaches such as:

  • CBT with meditation and aromatherapy for stress and anxiety
  • Counselling with breathwork and reflexology during addiction recovery
  • Trauma-informed therapy with Reiki or sound healing
  • Art and play therapy for children alongside gentle holistic support

Clients do not have to commit to a particular combination. Angie discusses the available options and develops an approach that feels appropriate for each person.

Integrated Therapy Approaches for Clients

Support Tailored to You

Reaching out for help can feel daunting, particularly when you are unsure which type of support you need.

Nurture Your Wellbeing begins with a free 20-minute discovery call. This gives you an opportunity to talk about what you are experiencing, ask questions and explore whether counselling, holistic therapy or an integrated approach might be suitable.

There is no pressure to make an immediate commitment.

Following an initial consultation, Angie can create a personalised plan based on your circumstances and goals. Sessions then progress at a pace that feels manageable for you, with the approach reviewed and adjusted when necessary.
